Thank you for stopping by to take a peek at the PM role I posted here on LinkedIN, I appreciate it. If you have read my JD's before, welcome back. If this is your first time reading my JD's, welcome to the party.
As those familiar with my JD's will know, I am an actual human being writing this...no bots, no AI. I like to add humor and a human touch to these things. So, if you see anything that gives you a chuckle or...who knows, even some entertaining reading, that was the point.
Emotional Intelligence and 'social fit' are key success factors in this role. Allow me to explain.
This is a firm where transparency and genuine honesty are paramount. A lot of firms throw around that word 'transparency' a lot...but when things are bad, no one says anything for fear of the repercussions. This is a place where the no one is going to shake their head in frustration because of something that didn't go well. They will get frustrated if you hide something wrong...so, be honest about it.
I was working on a role with this client that was very similar to this one a few months ago. They are adding a member to their team as opposed to searching to replace someone.
Here is what we are seeking.
This role is being done in a hybrid manner with 3 days onsite in Orland Park and the rest remote. There will be, roughly, 10% travel in this role as well. I am only seeking candidates within driving distance to Orland Park, Illinois for this role.
I can only work with US Citizens or Green Card Holders for this role. So, I cannot work with F1, OPT, EAD, H1b, STEM or anyone who is not a US Citizen or current Green Card Holder for this role.
You will be a primary project manager to help this firm's client's manage software implementations. So, we are seeking a PM that has worked with external customers with regards to product or software implementations. As with many PM roles....this one blends some of those 'classic' BA skills as well. So, if you blend that fun stuff like requirements gathering, documentation, process flow diagramming and UAT scripting with your PM skills, that would be spot on with what we are seeking. As you might guess, those PM skills such as budget tracking, resource allocation, deliverable tracking and so on will be fundamental skills for success in this role.
As far as expectations go, in the first 90 days for this role, we are seeking to have you understand how this client works through implementations (especially internal processes) and learning about how this client's software works & it's capabilities. So, you won't be thrown to the wolves on day one...there is a learning curve you will go through in those first 60-90 days.
If you are anything like me, your eyes start to get blurry (I'm old, so they get blurry a little sooner than most) when it comes to a zillion bullet points, so I will be relatively brief with regards to the responsibilities and requirements for this role.
Here are some of those key responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary interface for internal and external stakeholders...this requires that delicate task of planning & execution of those steps to a successful project (delicate...sometimes how people focus - intensely - on their golf game).
- Define and monitor deliverables, their timelines and overall project objectives.
- Strategize & plan resource allocation.
- Establish project & communication structures. As many PM's know, the lynch pin of project success is communication to those key stakeholders as opposed to - they day before a deliverable is due - saying 'whoops...did I do that' (humor from Steve Urkel from Family Matters...I told you I was old).
- Lead and organize regular project meetings with external customers.
Here are what we are seeking:
- At least 3 years of PM experience. Some of this experience should be external customer facing if possible.
- Your PM experience will need to be IT in focus and in a Manufacturing environment as well. Granted, not all of your experience needs to be in manufacturing, but at least 1-2 of your projects will need to be in the manufacturing space.
- That PM experience will need to be IT in focus. If you have ERP or MES implementation experience, that would be fantastic to see.
- Methodical, purpose-driven and outcome-oriented PM experience.
- Effective pizza delivery experience (attempt at humor).
- Willingness to travel up to 10% (travel will be in the Midwest, primarily).
